These WSU classes fulfill most OT program prerequisites:
Human Anatomy with lab
1 semester, Biology 315 or Kinesiology 262.
Human Physiology with lab
1 semester, Biology 251.
General Biology
1 semester, Biology 102, 106, or 107.
Chemistry
1 semester, Chemistry 101 or 102 for non-science majors, or Chemistry 105 for science majors. Each of these WSU courses have prerequisites which include specific scores on the WSU ALEKS Math Placement Exam, college math courses, and grade requirements.
Psychology/Social Sciences
3 to 12 semesters, options include Psychology 105, 333, and 361; Human Development 101; Sociology 101; anthropology and others.
Statistics
1 semester, Math 212 or Psychology 311.
Additional coursework for OT preparation
Some OT programs require courses such as English composition, expository writing, public speaking, medical terminology, biomechanics or other kinesiology courses, evidence of a 3-dimensional skill or craft, introductory physics, or a neuroscience lab course.
